Acu-Detox

Acu-Detox (acupuncture detoxification) is a special type of auricular acupuncture treatment established by the National Addiction and Detoxification Association (NADA). Acu-detox is performed by placing five small, sterile, disposable needles into specific points on the outer ears, and is most widely used in to help individuals recover from substance abuse, alcoholism, nicotine use, and even sugar and caffeine addictions. Additionally, this treatment has reportedly helped patients with anxiety, depression, sleep difficulties, irritability, and the withdrawal symptoms associated with recovery from addiction. Patients receiving Acu-Detox often report feeling more optimistic about their recovery, note decreased cravings, and have a feeling of calmness and inner peace which allows for more self- exploration of the underlying factors and aspects of their lives contributing to their addictive behavior. A treatment session usually lasts for approximately 45 min depending on the individual and the setting.
